Compress an image to 50 KB
Many application forms allow photos and scanned documents up to 50 KB. This page is already set to 50 KB: drop in a JPG, PNG or WebP image and download a JPG at or under the limit. The file stays on your device.
What 50 KB is good for
50 KB is enough for a sharp passport-style photo, or a readable scan of a small card such as an ID card or a certificate stub. It is not enough for a full A4 page with small print; for those, a PDF usually works better: try PDF under 200 KB.
Tips
- Photograph documents flat, from straight above, in daylight. Shadows and tilt make the file bigger and harder to read.
- Crop to the document’s edges before compressing.
- If the form also gives a pixel size, tick Keep width and height after resizing, or use the photo resizer, which sets the pixel size and the KB limit together.
