Passport and visa photo resizer
Crop and resize a photo to the exact pixel size an online passport or visa form asks for, and keep it under the file size limit. Everything runs in this browser tab; the photo is not uploaded.
How to use it
- Pick a size from the list, or choose Custom size and type the width and height in pixels.
- Drop your photo in the box. A preview appears.
- Use Zoom, Left / right and Up / down until your head is centred with a little space above it.
- Click Download photo.
Sizes in the list
- US visa and DV lottery: 600 × 600 pixels, square, JPG, 240 KB or less. These are the U.S. Department of State’s digital image rules.
- 35 × 45 mm: the printed photo size used by many countries, including the UK and Schengen visas. 413 × 531 pixels is that size at 300 dpi.
- 35 × 45 mm, small upload: the same shape at a lower pixel size, kept under 50 KB for forms with tight limits.
Rules change and differ by office. Always check the exact pixel size, file size and background colour on the official form before you submit.
Getting a photo that is accepted
- Stand about a metre in front of a plain white or light grey wall, with even light and no shadows.
- Look straight at the camera with a neutral expression and both eyes open.
- No filters or beauty modes. Most offices reject edited photos.
This tool only crops and resizes. It does not change your face or background.
