Age calculator for job applications
Job adverts and admission forms usually set an age limit, such as 18 to 30 years, counted on the closing date. Enter your date of birth and that date to see your exact age in years, months and days. You can also check it against the limit, including any upper age relaxation.
How to use it
- Enter your date of birth as it appears on your ID card.
- Change Age on this date to the closing date in the advert (it starts as today).
- Optional: open Check an age limit and type the minimum and maximum age, plus any relaxation the advert allows.
How the age is counted
Age is counted in completed years, then completed months, then the remaining days, the same way it is worked out by hand. For example, someone born on 15 March 2000 is 26 years, 6 months and 18 days old on 3 October 2026.
About upper age limits
- This calculator treats “maximum 30 years” as exactly 30 years, 0 months and 0 days on the closing date. Some recruiters accept anyone who has not yet turned 31. Read the advert’s wording and, if unsure, ask the recruiter.
- Upper age relaxation is often given to particular groups, for example government employees or applicants from certain regions. Only add relaxation that the advert says applies to you.
