Signature resize for online forms

Online job, exam and bank forms often ask for a scanned signature with a white background, a set pixel size and a small file size, often 10–20 KB. Take a phone photo of your signature and this tool cleans and sizes it. The photo never leaves your browser.

How to use it

  1. Sign on plain white paper with a black or dark blue pen. Sign a little larger than usual.
  2. Photograph it from straight above in daylight or bright room light. Avoid your shadow falling on the paper.
  3. Drop the photo in the box. The cleaned, cropped signature appears as a preview.
  4. If the form gives a size, type the width and height in pixels and the maximum KB, then click Download signature.

If the result does not look right

  • Grey smudges or paper texture left: move Clean-up to the right.
  • Thin parts of the signature disappear: move Clean-up to the left, or sign with a thicker pen.
  • Edges of the paper or a table show up: crop the photo closer to the signature first, or retake it with only paper in view.

Questions

Black or blue? Use what the form asks for. If it says nothing, black is the safe choice.

Does it change my signature? No. It only whitens the background, crops and resizes. The shape of your signature is not redrawn.

Is the photo uploaded? No. All processing happens in this browser tab.

Need a photo of yourself as well? Use the passport photo resizer.
