Add a watermark to a PDF
Stamp words such as COPY, DRAFT or CONFIDENTIAL across the pages of a PDF. A common use is marking copies of an ID card or certificate with what they are for, for example “For bank account opening only”. The watermark is added in your browser and the file is not uploaded.
How to use it
- Drop the PDF in the box.
- Type the watermark text and choose colour, strength and direction.
- Leave Pages as “all”, or list pages like 1-3,5.
- Click Add watermark.
Why watermark ID copies?
A copy of your ID card that says what it was given for is much harder to misuse elsewhere. Make the copy with ID card on one page, then add a watermark here naming the organisation and the date.
Good to know
- The watermark is drawn over the page, so keep the strength light if the text underneath must stay readable.
- It uses a standard font: English letters, numbers and common symbols work; Urdu text is not supported in the watermark.
- A watermark can be removed by someone with PDF editing software. For privacy, also password-protect the PDF.
